Terms of Service
Effective September 25, 2026. These terms explain how we work, so there are no surprises. By booking a job with Barn Yard PCs or using this website, you agree to them.
Barn Yard PCs ("we," "us") is a PC building, upgrade and repair business run by Caleb, serving the Brookhaven, McComb and Monticello areas of Mississippi. "You" means the customer or anyone using this website.
1. Our services
We build custom PCs, install upgrades, diagnose and repair computers, perform related services like Windows installs, cleanings and data transfers, and sell ready-built PCs. All work is done on a drop-off and pick-up basis. We don't offer shipping or on-site service unless we agree to it in writing.
2. Quotes and prices
Our current prices are listed on our Services & Pricing page. Prices are for our labor only and don't include parts unless we say otherwise. Quotes, budget tool results and estimates are estimates, not guarantees. If a job turns out to need more work than expected, we'll contact you for approval before doing anything that costs more.
The repair diagnosis fee covers the time it takes to find the problem, and it's owed whether or not you choose to go ahead with the repair.
3. Custom builds and customer-supplied parts
For custom builds, we recommend a parts list based on your budget and needs. You buy the parts yourself from the sellers of your choice, then drop them off with us.
- Parts before drop-off are your responsibility. Anything to do with ordering, shipping, delivery, damage in transit, returns or refunds is between you and the seller until the parts are in our hands.
- Bring everything at once. Please drop off every part needed for the job together. We can't hold partial sets of parts while you wait on the rest.
- Parts you choose yourself. If you buy parts other than the ones we recommended, or bring parts you already own, we're not responsible if they're incompatible, used, damaged or don't perform as you hoped.
- Defective parts. If a part turns out to be defective (dead on arrival or failing during testing), we'll let you know. Replacing it is handled through the seller or manufacturer's warranty. We're not responsible for manufacturer defects, but we're happy to help you figure out which part is at fault.
4. Turnaround time
Most builds take 2 to 4 business days once we have all your parts. Repairs and upgrades vary. Any time we give is an estimate. Delays can happen, for example when a part is defective or needs replacing, and we'll keep you updated through your job status page.
5. Your data and software
Please back up your files before dropping off any computer or storage drive. Repairs, upgrades, Windows installs and data transfers can involve erasing or replacing drives, and hardware that's already failing can lose data at any time. We take care with your data, but we're not responsible for lost or corrupted files, settings or programs.
You're responsible for having valid licenses for Windows and any other software on your computer, unless a license is part of what we quoted you. We may need to access your computer's files and settings to test or repair it, and we don't look through personal files beyond what the job requires.
6. Payment
Payment is due when you pick up your computer or parts, unless we agree otherwise ahead of time. We accept cash, Venmo, Apple Pay and PayPal. We may hold items until the balance is paid.
7. Pick-up and unclaimed items
We'll contact you when your job is ready. Please pick it up within 30 days. If an item is left more than 30 days after we tell you it's ready, and we've made reasonable attempts to reach you by phone, text or email, we may treat it as abandoned and handle it as allowed by Mississippi law, which can include recovering what's owed.
8. Warranty
- Custom builds: can be covered by a warranty on our labor for 6 months to 1 year. The exact length is agreed when you book your build and noted with your job. It covers problems caused by our workmanship, like a loose connection or an assembly mistake, and we'll fix those at no labor charge.
- Repairs and upgrades: don't come with a warranty on our labor.
- Parts: are covered only by their manufacturer's warranty, which stays with you as the buyer.
Our labor warranty doesn't cover damage from drops, spills, power surges, misuse, dust or heat buildup, overclocking, software or viruses, or anyone else opening or changing the computer after we return it.
9. Our responsibility
We handle every computer and part with care. If we damage your property through our own negligence while it's in our possession, we'll make it right by repairing it or covering the reasonable cost of the damaged part. We're not responsible for problems that already existed when you dropped it off, hardware that fails on its own due to age or defects, or indirect losses like lost time, lost income or lost data.
To the extent Mississippi law allows, our total responsibility for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, plus the cost of any part we damaged through our negligence.
10. Ready-built PCs
Ready-built PCs are tested before sale and sold as described on our PCs for Sale page. Any warranty on a ready-built PC is what we tell you in writing at the time of sale. Photos and specs are for reference, and a listed PC may already be sold, so please contact us to confirm before coming to buy.
11. Using this website
When you send a quote request, leave a review or look up a job, you agree to give accurate information. Reviews are checked before they're posted, and we may decline to post or remove any review, for example one that's false, abusive or unrelated to our work. By submitting a review, you let us show it, with the name you gave, on this website and our social media.
Please don't misuse this website, such as trying to guess other customers' job codes, sending spam, or trying to break or get around its security.
12. Your information
When you contact us, request a quote, or have us work on a job, we keep the information you give us, like your name, phone number and email, to handle your job and contact you about it. We use it only for that. We don't sell it or share it with anyone, except services we use to run the business, such as email, or when the law requires it. Your job status page never shows your name. If you'd like us to delete your information, just ask.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with its effective date, is the one that applies. Jobs already in progress follow the terms that were posted when you dropped them off.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi.
